I feel like I’ve come a long way with my Mother’s Day card-making and lettering abilities.

Sure maybe my style has changed but the message is always the same. I love my mom and she’s incredibly special and I am proud to be her daughter.

She’s the reason I’m a go getter, risk taker, and all-around positive person.  As they say, “you get it from yo mamma”.

She came to America, in 1987, with $28 dollars. She left her entire life in South Korea to have me and marry my father (my dad was in the Army and they met while he was stationed in Korea). She traveled to the States to have me, she had no relatives, no friends, no job. She could speak only a little bit of English. Her university degree in Korea didn’t transfer so she had to start back at square one. She worked at a bra factory and other side jobs while learning English and raising me. She enrolled in college and studied many late nights  – for years – so she could eventually earn her associate’s degree, then bachelor’s, and lastly her MBA.

My mom made the life she wanted. Nothing was handed to her. The best part is, she never complained about any of it. She’s the bravest person I know.

I wanted to make something for her and all of my amazing friends who have just recently in the past 4 years have become moms. So this is for all of the amazing moms out there, Happy Mother’s Day.
